Your reading rhythm

Commit the time.
Open your Bible.

A clear beginning, time in Scripture, and a record to return to.

  1. Set your rhythm.

Choose your reading time per session. Set morning or evening start times and build your day around them.

  2. Prepare to read.

Take 30 seconds to quiet your soul and fix your gaze on Jesus before the reading timer begins.

  3. Phone down. Bible up.

Open your physical Bible. Your reading time continues while your phone is locked.

  4. Record what you read.

Once the time is complete, record the passages you read. Find them again in your reading history.

Four ways to keep time

Choose how
time appears.

An hourglass, a familiar dial, a digital countdown—or no visible timer. Choose the display that supports your focus, then turn your attention to Scripture.

Still previews of the reading displays.

Example reading record

What did you read?

John 4–630 minutes

Your passage and reading time, kept in your history.

Reading history

Keep track of
where you’ve been.

You might begin with John 4 and finish at John 6. Record what you actually read after your session, then return to it through your reading history.

Your time is the commitment. The passage record comes afterwards.

A few things to know

Before you
make the switch.

Do I read the Bible inside the app?

You read from your own physical Bible. BibleSwitch helps you set aside the time, prepare to read and keep a record of the passages you read.

Does it lock my phone or block other apps?

The current iPhone pilot does not automatically lock your phone or block other apps. You can lock the screen yourself; your reading time continues.

Can I finish a session before the timer ends?

The completion button becomes available when your reading time is over. You can end a session early, but it is not recorded as a completed reading session.
